One chaotic night. Eight desperate performers. One delusional host. And the promise that a showbiz legend might appear.

Jack Ramp’s Unfortunate Cabaret  a musical comedy,  takes place over one night in a bargain-basement New York theater. A group of performers bravely—or foolishly—take the stage to sing for Jack Ramp, the host: a talent-challenged egomaniac with a microphone. They endure his withering commentary for one reason only: Jack promises they’ll be seen by his sister, Patti Peters—a universally adored, showbiz icon.

Jack can’t resist showing everyone “how it should be done,” launching into his own disastrous numbers, complete with surprises, and escalating chaos. Then—shockingly—Patti actually shows up, performing one of her signature numbers and turning the room upside down. In the end, Jack finally sees the real talent in front of him, and the cast comes together in a final number about survival, dignity and keeping the dream alive.

The music is Pop, some Broadway with re-written lyrics, standards and even opera!

Hi, I’m Stephen Brown, creator of Jack Ramp’s Unfortunate Cabaret—an irreverent, filthy-fun musical comedy. I’ve worked on Jack Ramp for over a decade as a writer and performer. This show is a love letter to the ambition and resilience of performers who give it their all for that illusive dream of showbiz success.

Jack Ramp’s Unfortunate Cabaret promises a night of laugh-out-loud, jaw-dropping fun—
